The Nazaré big-wave arena. The underwater canyon focuses energy into the world's largest rideable waves; on smaller swells the inside bowls offer serious heavy-water bodyboarding.
Long, wild beach break between Peniche and Foz do Arelho. Less crowded than Supertubos and produces consistent hollow peaks on solid swells.
Open beach break on the south side of the Baleal isthmus. Picks up more swell than the bay and produces fun, punchy peaks for intermediates.
Sheltered corner inside Baleal Bay. The most beginner-friendly wave in the area — protected from N winds and home to most of Peniche'...
Reef break under the fort at Consolação, with a more sheltered south side that works when the rest of the coast is blown out.
